ABOUT THE EVENT
A Meaningful Day That Started with Family
On 17 December 2023, James and Susan's son Rex was born at only 29 weeks' gestation, a full 11 weeks early. Rex weighed just 1310g at birth and needed breathing support from a CPAP machine, as well as round-the-clock monitoring and care for a total of 50 days while he continued to grow to full term.
Without the expert care and facilities of the Neonatal Unit at Mater Mothers Hospital, Rex wouldn't be here today. That is why Rutledge Drilling felt strongly compelled to give back and help raise much needed funds for this life-saving unit. Rex was released from hospital at 36 weeks (corrected) and 51 days old. He is now thriving, a testament to the amazing care and world-class facilities of the Mater Mothers NICU.
What started as a way to give back has grown into an annual event bringing together our clients, suppliers, staff and industry supporters to raise vital funds and awareness for premature and critically ill babies and their families.

Giving Little Ones the Best Possible Start
Mater Little Miracles raises funds for the seriously ill and premature babies cared for at Mater, with the aim of giving them the best possible start to life.
Donations invest in life-saving research, care and equipment, helping Mater's Neonatal Critical Care Unit care for babies and support their families through some of the hardest days.
